In today’s workplace stree has become a problematic issue.Normal stress can be tolerable but exponentially higher stress levels can spoil an employee’s productivity and his physical and emotional health. The factors that cause excessive stress are  the increasing competitions ,unrealistic deadlines ,lack of  job security and workers’ own excessive expectations lead to raise stress level at workplace and employers can take several steps to hit on this problem.

To begin with ,why jobs have become so stressful ,the topmost reason  is the higher competition in the job market these days.Employees who are already hired ,work hard to save their job because their employers always have options for finding new employees and replace the existing one. This naturally has negative psycological effect on workers.Consequently employees have to work for longer hours to meet their performance targets because the unseen threat of firing is always there .Apart from that ,excessively high workloads with unfeasible targets,makes people feel pressurized.In the  same context,insufficient workload makes them feel that their skills are undervalued and this also cause stress.The bottommost reason is that people’s aspirations from the offices have reached to a higher position and they are ready to sacrifice their personal life for the sake of promotions.So ,this shift of mind setup has also contributed to the increasing work pressure.

As far as solution are concerned ,employers can take a lot of modus operandi to cope with workplace stress.To begin with,despite the higher competition  in business ,employers should ensure a healthy working environment and support their workers morally and financially in order to sustain in the long run.A company cannot survive without experience and dedicated workers and persistant fright of dismissal cannot ensure a healthy workplace.Moreover,if overwork is causing stress in the business ,then they should try to reduce people ’workload .They should ensure that their employees’targets are challenging ,but realistic ,and make sure that employees take their full holiday entitlement.Finally,the employers should have a friendly relationship with the workers and have meetings to listen to their problem.Thus ,in a condition employees’ jobs are secured ,they  can then give better outputs.

To sum up,higher competitions in the job market and people’s aim to reach higher are the main reasons for stress in the workplace and the employers have a lot to contribute to improving this situation.A healthy workplace is essential for good working conditions for workers.
